Media and Celebrities | IELTS Writing Task 2

The media pay too much attention to the lives and relationships of celebrities such as actors, singers or footballers. They should spend more time reporting the lives of ordinary people instead.

Overtime, media has oriented toward famous figures. An urge then arises to also inform about ordinary people. Despite of different values given by both kinds of information, I believe that celebrities’ lives and relationships are worthier to expose.

Nowadays, there are more online or offline media presenting common people stories as those are motivational and inspirational to enjoy. These reports focus on displaying how ordinary people, particularly the poor, address their life problems and survive, or presenting successful autobiography of them. Values offered through these programs are mainly to motivate viewers and readers to be always grateful, to work harder, as well as to build sympathy and empathy to others despite of their circumstances as there might be more unfortunate persons than them in their life. However, I think these kinds of stories and news will not attract many consumers since they may think that it does not deserve admiration.

Celebrities’ role as public figures holds more power on inspiring, influencing, and motivating their followers. Common people idolize the extraordinary ones and therefore their glamourous and successful life or career can be a driving force for their fans to work harder and never stop dreaming on pursuing dreams as their favourite renowned persons once lived ordinary. Moreover, celebrities’ relationships even private lives are usually depicted as full drama or sensations that seems extremely entertaining for others. Although the fabricated news of popular persons is ubiquitous and is possibly considered bad to follow, but this is the most entertaining program at people’s home to wait for. On many TV channels, gossip programs lead the rating, showing the high demand for such news.

All in all, it is true that ordinary people stories can inspire others positively. However, news about public figures are the most entertaining and demanded.

Personal Possessions | IELTS Writing Task 2 Pare

These days everyone seems to have more and more possessions (e.g.: computers, cars, mobile phones etc.). Our strong desire to own these things is making us less aware of important personal qualities such as kindness and concern for other.

Do you agree or disagree?

Today’s people tend to possess the large number of belongings which affect by the economic freedom like electronic gadgets and cars. However, the demand to have these objects does not diminish personal values of people since they are tactful to concern for others or being kind.

In the Western and Asian, people spend much money, time and other resources for belonging some precious goods and satisfying their lives or privileges, despite of their material lifestyle. For instance, Jack Ma, a founder of Alibaba Company, donates his earnings for charitable activities like upgrading the hospital’s medical equipment and public health in China. Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife spend three billion US dollar to accelerate scientific research, with the wildly ambitions goal of curing all diseases in children’s lifetime. Despite of their spending for charity, they own luxurious cars and many other possessions but that has not prevented them from being kind and considerate towards the needy.

Moreover, owning a large number of material objects or dealing with a luxurious lifestyle is one of the major reasons for mankind’s realisation for fulfilment in life. Rich people aware about their moral responsibilities towards the society like kindness and concern for others. Those moral qualities are inherent in every human, but this cannot be easily suppressed by the increasing ownership of material possessions. It is undeniable that some people might be unmindful of important personal qualities, in their quest for a material way of life.      

     

In conclusion, there is no serious hindrance between possessing modern inventions and man’s desires for increasing the personal values.

The consumption of fast foods | IELTS Writing Task 1 Kampung Inggris

The chart shows the amount of money per week spent on fast foods in Britain. The graph shows the trends in consumption of fast foods.

Answer 1:

The bar chart compares the proportion of expenditure for fast food per week in three different categories of people depending on their income namely high, average, and low for pizza, hamburger and fish and chips in UK, 1990. The line chart illustrates the changes of popular fast foods in a twenty-year period from 1970 to 1990.

On the whole, the high expenditure of fast food could be seen into people who have high and average income and spent on hamburger, while low income chose fish and chips. Conversely, the popular fast food was pizza in 1970, this continuously reduced in the year 1990. However, the popularity of hamburger and fish and chips showed a significant increase throughout the years.

High income category spent 42% for hamburger which was three times farther than both pizza and fish and chips expense. Looking at people with average income showed that the hamburger expense was 30%, fish and chips 25%, and pizza experienced three times less than hamburger trend. In contrast, people who are low income preferred to choose fish and chips for about 16% whilst hamburger 14% was twice more than the percentage of pizza.

The consumption both hamburger and fish and chips rose slightly between 1970 and 1990, however, 500 peoples who bought fish and chips being the highest consumption in the last period. Although pizza peaked at 300 people as the highest one in the first year, this figure was taken over by hamburger trend almost 300 in year 1990.

Answer 2:

The bar chart compares about the expenditure of fast food spent per week by high, average and low income, while the consumption of fast food namely hamburger, fish & chips and pizza is presented in the line chart from 1970 to 1990.

Overall, the high expenditure of fast food seen into people with high and average income was hamburger. In contrast, the popular fast food which was consumed by people was pizza in 1970, however, this was taken over by hamburger and this trend showed the highest one until the last year period.

Hamburger consumed by high and average income was the highest expenditure, 42% and 33%. Fish and chips stood at 25% as the second higher than pizza consumption only 11%, while this fast food had an equal trend approximately 16% in both high and low income. Although fish and chips experienced almost the same expenditure as pizza in the high income category, that fast food witnessed 14% doubled higher than pizza for the low income.

The consumption of hamburger and fish and chips inclined slightly between 1970 and 1990, however, 500 peoples who bought fish and chips being highest consumption in last period. IELTS WRITING TASK 1

Alhamdulillah, Baru sempat mengetik model esai IELTS Writing Task 1 ini. Salah satu aktifitas para peserta kursus IELTS Nett English di kampung inggris adalah latihan menulis bar chart yang di deskripsikan ke esai minimal 150 kata. Kemampuan menulis esai tugas 1 (IELTS writing task 1) ini dilatih setiap hari selama 90 menit dimana para peserta belajar mulanya dibekali kemampuan menganalisa berbagai macam data, lalu memahami kosa kata yang berhubungan dengan tugas 1 kemudian para peserta dibimbing menulis dalam waktu kurang dari 20 menit sehingga mereka mahir dan mudah untuk menaklukkan tes menulis dalam IELTS.

The graph shows the different modes of transport used to travel to and from work in one European city i n 1960, 1980 

Answer:

The bar chart presents details information about the mode of transport in the years of 1960, 1980 and 2000 in one of European cities. There are four transportations namely train, car, tube and bus. Overall, 1960 showed buses as the popular transport for commuting while this trend was taken over by cars in the year 2000.

In 1960, the popular mode of transport was bus, 38%, that was significantly far higher than the car use. The year 1980, tube experienced the same popularity as car with 23% of commuters. There was different from the train and bus which had minimal around 28%.

In the course of forty years from 1960, in 2000 the percentage of commuters in these four modes of transports was a significant difference. The proportion of train users was dropped to by 6%, tube by 3%, and bus by 10%. In contrast, the car users’ percentage increased slightly to 15%.

It is noticeable that, the living standards of people in Europe are remarkable during forty-year period. 1960 was bus. In 1980 it changed to tubes and finally turned to cars in 2000.

Dropping Arts and Sports

Subjects such Art, sport, Music are being dropped from the school curriculum for subjects such as Information Technology. Many people say that children suffer as a result of these changes.

To what extent would you support or reject the idea of moving these subjects form school curriculum?

Answer:

Art, sport and music are subjects which sharpen the children’s talents and creativity. If those lessons are negated from the curriculum, this can be impact on physical and psychological development in the early age of children. Therefore, I would totally object to the idea of removing these subjects.

With the aim to support the creative talents and sporting abilities of students, it is significantly important to nurture the early age group within arts, sports and musical skills. If schools do not give a chance for students who have a gift in music, dance, and sports to improve their skills, it would definitely stunt the inborn talents. Apart from school hours where teachers train academic ability for students, they hardly get opportunity for doing activities such sports. Hence, despite of Information Technology as new subjects in school, I think that it is absolutely essential to ensure the effective time related to sports, arts and musical activities.

Moreover, if class hours totally execute academic subjects, children would barely have time to perk up their mind. It means that unloading pressure activities of academic achievements and examinations could be balanced between creative and recreational tasks such as music and sports. What is more, it is possible that education is able to be interest experience in school when children are engaged in the sports opportunity. It is mainly recognized that children would be glad in participating sports program after tiresome hours in academic lessons. 

All in all, the school should shape a policy on a proper way to adjust a study schedule in subjects like information technology, without overlooking the crucial factor of arts and sports.

Dikarenakan dari segi topik sebagian besar pejuang IELTS mungkin aga asing dengan topik yang berhubungan dengan kemajuan teknologi dan orang lanjut usia yang menggunakan alat-alat teknologi.

The impact of advanced technologies utilised by the aged, for some views, become apprehensive. With the comparison to care the elderly, there are numerous advantages in these developments apart from those who look after the aged lives.   

The sophisticated devices designed for monitoring, tracking and other usage have been improved for old people feeling the greater security. Today’s aged, with the aim to use the functions of hi-tech, they might not depend on nuclear family to move around and check their time. This would lead them great chances being far more independence and self-confidence and obviously come up with their better emotional and physical wellbeing. For example, getting around by controlling devices could help the old people without asking someone’s hands or individuals. Conversely, the beneficial technology would appear many social issues related to the elderly’s activities.

Moreover, having reliance by using automated tools, modern wheelchairs and automated beds, has caused the social and emotional problems and eased the tediousness of activities. As long as many elderly people who are immobile and bed-ridden, they would need a help of nurses and caregivers. When helping old people to take a bath or to move around, these physically interactions increase two-way communication resulting nursing supports. If people who spend more time to interact with the aged, this can definitely have a positive impact on the emotional health and get rid of their loneliness to a great extent. In spite of deal with any social issues, the use of high modern devices can help the elderly to lead far more meaningful lives.

Lastly, this concludes that considering the numerous aspects of the discussion issues, the use of modern equipment in elderly care is more likely to bring some social consequences.
